Uploading a Template to Your Hosting

Postby admin » Wed Jul 29, 2009 1:06 pm

Okay, this is the easiest way in my book to upload a template, after the total customize-ation(sp?) is done.

You will need:

  • A template file
  • An FTP program
  • A website with hosting

Let's go.

  • Open the folder that the template files are in and do [Ctrl] + [A], make sure that the images folder is selected too!

  • Open your FTP program and login with user. and pass., etc... Now, click in the area where the uploaded files are supposed to appear and do [Ctrl] + [V].

    You need to ftp the template files to your hosting company under a web accessible folder (usually it is called public_html). (if you are using firefox which I recommend, you can use a firefox extension called "FireFTP" to ftp you files to your hosting company, it is a great firefox extension - you can get firefox from getfirefox.com & FireFTP https://addons.mozilla.org/)

  • All the files should appear. Once you have the index.html, images/ folder and style.css file in your hosting the site should load with no problems, if not, repost here.

Hi sofigiraldo;

MyTemplateBox offers 3 kind of templates: 1) css templates, 2) blogger templates , 3 ) wordpress templates

In order to download proper template for your blogger please choose a template from blogger templates . These templates all should contain a .xml file on the zip file.

Good luck with your blog.

OK, When i upload a template in blogger.com it always shows a warning, YOUR FOLOWING WIDGETS WILL BE DELETED. Should i install the template first or after writing the article and publishing it?

I agree strawberry, I'm new with templates and installing one seems like making a rocket to me....well maybe not that hard but it still seems complicated I guess this clears things up though, but some questions of mine still remain
